Playing in the water

We left Los Angeles about 9:30 this morning and were playing in the Colorado River near Needles at 1:30! Water was 72 to 86 depending on where you were. Air temp was around 105. First picture is on the neat rock formations that surround the river below Needles. Second picture is Katie bailing out her boat so it won't sink. Just kidding, they can't sink (have foam floatation). She's actually scooping up water to pour on herself for cooling! We're now situated in the Flamingo, which was sold by Caesers and is to be shortly renamed the Aquarius. This will probably be the last time we stay here, as we were checking in we were informed that boat parking is $15 a night. Since the four nights of rooms are only costing us $30, the parking is twice as expensive as the room! Of course, we didn't find out until check in. Oh well, we'll find another place that is boat friendly.
