Jackson, WY to Sheridan, WY via Yellowstone
We left our motel in Jackson this morning to head to Yellowstone Park. After breakfast we headed out. We had heard from our rafting guide yesterday that we could get there through the Teton Village ski area...

She sort of neglected to tell us that there was 10 miles of bad road. The ranger at the gate said for us to keep toward the middle (this was a two way road) because we might clip a Sea-Doo on a tree. Well, the truck was clean.
This was our last view of the Tetons.
After three hours of following people in a 45 MPH zone that were doing 25, three road construction areas, all with up to a thirty minute delay (we only had to wait a maximum of five minutes)and getting through the jam in the parking lot), we were ready to see Old Faithful do his thing (we arrived at 11:55 for the 12:05 eruption).
Here he is in full glory...
Surprise, here are Dave and Cindy D'Alfonso, good friends from the Santa Ynez area, who met us entirely by accident at Old Faithful.
Well a couple of cell phone calls helped a little bit. They had just returned from a five mile hike, oh to be young!
We had a good visit with them over lunch and then they headed off to Montana to pick up their daughter from her summer job.
Was great seeing them and especially so far from home, small world.
