Branson to Lake Powell (Page, AZ)

We left Branson bright and early (well at least it was early, was raining) on Thursday, 9/11 to head to Lake Powell in Arizona. This was a fitting picture on the way out of Branson, this is a mobile shooting range set up for who, we don't know. But check out the background.

We found most flags Thursday at half mast in memory of the terrible events of 2001. These were neat lawn ornaments that wagged their tales as they watered the lawn. Pete wants to build some!

We passed this new church somewhere in Oklahoma, the cross was huge (must have been close to 100' tall)

This picture was for Zall my friend from grammar school through high school. Must have been named after his family!

We had lots of rain through Oklahoma, these were some of the cloud formations as we headed, on Friday, out of Elk City where we spent the night.

This was the view out of the back parking lot of our motel in Gallup, New Mexico Friday night.

We drove from Elk City, OK through the Texas panhandle and through most of New Mexico on Friday.

A rest stop in New Mexico, if you look carefully you can see Katie at the truck pointing out the next picture..

Katie says the right hand end of this rock formation looks like a Dinosaur!

The highway 89 from Flagstaff, Arizona to Page has some interesting cliffs.

Due to the traffic and speed, we couldn't get any super pictures (besides it was mostly Indian land and they would want to charge us for taking pictures!)

As we pulled into Page, this was painted on one of the large cliffs.

The town has changed a lot since Pete was here in the mid 60's taking a raft trip up the Colorado River to the natural bridge with his mother and friend, Don Redmond.

At that time Pete's mother had a house at 79 1st street in Page, we'll see if we can get a current picture (there is one somewhere with Pete's 53 Dodge station wagon in the driveway).
