We visit the Minnesota State Fair!
Today was our day to head to the State Fair! Before that, breakfast in Chris' back yard. Gussie had other ideas on what to do with the coffee cake!
An unhappy dog that the coffee cake was too far for him to reach.
We were walking up the street, just three out of the 75,000 other fairgoers, and heard "I know you"... What a surprise, Tracy Hinkel and family were visiting the fair too. We had last seen them in Hacienda Heights as they were heading to Florida for a year, now they are back in MN for almost a year. Here Tracy, Chris, Jasmine, Cathy, and Katie discuss what we are up to.
Everything at the fair was "on a stick", Pizza, Pickles, Meat Balls, Deep Fried candy bars and somebody's joke, boulders on a stick.

In one of the design buildings, note the train going around the display.
From the aerial tram, "Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar". This place service hot and fresh Chocolate Chip cookies by the hundreds every minute. We couldn't pass up a cup of them ourselves. (sorry for the poor quality picture - it was taken through the tram's window)
We rode he open tram too, if you look very carefully you will see Chris in the second car behind us (she is between the two people in the car right behind us)
Some of the antique tractors that were on exhibit (picture from the tram).
This is a refrigerated display that contains carvings made of the various fair queens. As I understand it, they and the artist have to spend 6 - 8 hours inside the 40 degree display while he carves ther figures out of a 90 pound butter block. We don't know if that is one continuous "sitting" or not.
